Running, health and wellbeing festival to take place this Sunday in Walney
Date posted: 21st September 2022The Furness Running Health and Wellbeing Festival will take place on Sunday 25 September 2022 between 8am and 2pm at Walney School.
There will be the chance to visit the free BeWell Festival where there will be a range of indoor and outdoor activities. These will include sports, the opportunity to make fruit kebabs and wraps, a community corner, always active area, creative corner and a wellbeing area with a quiet space for yoga and active listeners.
Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust’s Health, Advice, Recovery, Resilience and Information (HARRI) bus will offer health checks.
There will also be a running festival with 10k, 5k runs and a one-mile family fun run on Walney Island. The one-mile fun run will start at 9.30am with the 5k and 10k runs following at 10.30am. The event has been organised by Barrow Integrated Care Community (ICC), Walney Wind Cheetahs, Cumbria County Council, British Aerospace (BAE) Systems, Mind in Furness and Me and My Health.
