Lancashire and South Cumbria Health and Care Partnership media release

Harry the Health Elf has arrived this festive period to share messages aimed at keeping children across Lancashire and South Cumbria healthy and safe this winter.

You’ve heard of the Elf on the Shelf, but this winter it’s all about Harry the Health Elf. Schools across Lancashire and South Cumbria are being encouraged to join Harry’s healthy winter adventure, by downloading and sharing Harry’s Winter Healthy Advent Calendar: https://calendar.myadvent.net/?id=a6fbc897504b621b85cfa2421c801adf

Each day of the advent calendar (that cannot be opened until on the day) will open to a video of Harry sharing a special message, aimed at reminding children across the region how to stay healthy over the festive period and beyond. These messages will range from eating well, keeping warm, how to stay safe and where to turn if they or their loved one falls ill.

Harry, Chief H’elf Advisor for the NHS said: “The festive period is an exciting time for children up and down the land.

“However, it’s really important that they stay safe and healthy and so it’s my job to share messages with children that help them to stay well and know where to turn if they or a loved one falls poorly.

“Schools across the region will shortly receive a letter from Father Christmas explaining how they can get involved and help share these messages.”

Harry will be appearing from 1 December and then flying back to the North Pole on Christmas Eve, so keep an eye on your local NHS social media pages.

Information packs will be landing with schools in the region shortly, but if you don’t receive one in time for the launch on 1 December and your school would like to take part in the Harry the Health Elf video advent calendar, please email healthierlsc.communications@nhs.net and we can share everything with you.
