The fifth annual Lancaster Health Festival took place 29 July to 1 Aug 2021. This year the Lancaster Health Festival returned to our fine city once again, celebrating and rediscovering the art of living via a series of online events and physically distanced activities.
The Lancaster Health Festival has one very simple aim: to create spaces and opportunities for people to have conversations – easy or difficult – with family, friends, neighbours, and with ourselves.
Events this year included a medical history tour of Lancaster, a food tasting at the LESS site in Garstang, a discussion regarding the future for health services, online practical sessions for yoga and Tai Chi and music for patients at Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
The main event took place on Saturday 30th July in Dalton Square and saw a number of local partners taking part in engaging with local residents. A number of support services took part, including citizens advice who have not held regular face to face sessions due to the pandemic. In addition Lancaster City Council gathered feedback regarding open spaces in Lancaster and the HARRI van was on site to provide health checks.
Samba Espirito returned again to provide music and colour to the occasion, providing a feel festival feel to Dalton Square.
