Key Decisions and Actions

The 17 May meeting of the Patients, Public and Carers Voice Forum was primarily focussed on the development of the 2022 / 23 Workplan and Framework.

Workplan 2022 / 23

The Board were provided with a brief reminder of the steps agreed in relation to the workplan at the 19 April meeting noting there were a number of key decisions and agreements needed to enable the Forum to progress onto the next stages.

Prior to agreement of the pilot outreach models and the Central Lancashire Partnership Priorities, members were asked to note the importance of the following two questions:

1. What can the PPCV Forum be getting on with now to support the work across the partnership?

2. What value can we add as a Forum by working together as a partnership

Further to detailed discussions members agreed to focus upon the following priorities within CLP:

• Intermediate Care – supporting the Primary and Community Care System Delivery Board
• Admission Avoidance – supporting the Urgent and Emergency Care System Delivery Board

Members heard that a further area of focus and in line with national guidance was around building relationships with excluded groups, particularly those affected by inequalities; following discussions members agreed the following groups should be a priority for the 2022/23 workplan:

• Learning Disabilities and Autism
• Deaf Community
• Loneliness

During the meeting workstream leads for the each of the priority areas, excluded groups and system delivery boards were nominated and approved, noting work in these areas would be supported by the Head of Partnership Development and Business Support Officer for the Central Lancashire Partnership Core Team.

PPCV Framework

G Tansey presented a comprehensive presentation of the Healthier Lancashire and Cumbria Partnership approach for working with people in communities across Lancashire and South Cumbria. The presentation included an overview of the approach to engagement with people and communities, and an outline of how partners would work together to deliver effective public involvement on collaborative Health and Care Partnership programmes of work across all the place-based partnerships.

In terms of next steps for the framework and workplan a number of key actions were outlined, with an update against these actions to be reported back at the 28 June meeting.
